PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hi everyone!
As usual, Mother Nature has decided to drag a long, cold winter into a chilly, wet spring! I'm starting to see greener grass though, and some of you are posting your outdoor rides on social media. Warmer days are on the way!
The OPHC board met recently and we have lots going on this season. First off, I'd like to mention APHA's new Paynt Point program. APHA is very optimistic that this will pay money back to our youth and novice exhibitors in addition to our amateurs with the addition of paying out to open exhibitors in the future. There is a a form you will need to file as Canadians to receive payback. (The same form you fill out if you are receiving a Breeders Trust Cheque). Contact me with your email address and I will forward you the APHA email regarding the program and necessary form. The OPHC board realizes this will be an additional cost to exhibitors and is working hard to come up with a way to alleviate that somehow. Stay tuned!
For our May show, we will be enlarging our hitching ring slightly by taking a bit of room from the show pen. We look forward to your feedback after the show to hear how it works!
Please get your horse's registration papers and your membership cards emailed to OPHCshows@gmail.com to ensure your entry process is quick and easy at the first show. Our show secretary is very grateful to those who get this done beforehand.
Rick Fleetwood has generously donated his time for a trail clinic at our June show. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for details on how to participate! Thank you Rick!
Lastly, I'd like to thank Timmy McKinnon farrier service for his donation of a stall to a randomly drawn youth at each of our shows in addition to even more sponsorship!

OPHC has adopted a new Drug Testing Policy which is effective immediately. All exhibitors are encouraged to review this policy before entering an OPHC show.
REMINDER
- Dogs are NOT permitted in the show arena while a show is in progress. Please keep all dogs away from the rail while a show is in progress. Dogs MUST be leashed at all times while on the show grounds.
